Evaluating research
Toronto Rehab’s research program is evaluated regularly by an independent and international team of leading rehabilitation scientists, the International Scientific Advisory Committee (ISAC). This peer review consists of an on-site visit to our specialized labs and workshops, interviews with research team leaders and investigators, presentations about new and promising areas of research, discussions with our research students, and a meeting with the hospital’s senior leaders.
ISAC provides us with a formal report on our research program, including recommendations for enhancement, which is reviewed by the Research and Education Committee of the hospital’s Board of Directors. Click here to read ISAC’s 2008 Report.
Annual Research Reports
Each year we also publish a report that provides an overview of current studies. The report highlights the implications of our work and explains how new research findings are informing the care patients receive and changes in health service delivery.
These annual reports also include data on the number of papers published by Toronto Rehab researchers, funding sources and awards, research faculty and students. To read our latest research report, click here. Previous reports date back to 2004/05 and are also available online.
